The vintage china available for hire from Tea & Lace is obviously fragile and the vintage items will be packaged carefully in robust storage containers for a hire agreement. At the end of the hire agreement the vintage items must be repackaged with due care and placed back into their original storage containers for collection.
The vintage china is not designed to be put in a dishwasher so if an item requires washing please do this by hand with care.
Please make sure any linen is dry and free of debris before being packed away. If tablecloths and napkins are left damp they are highly susceptible to mildew. Damage caused by mildew, cigarettes, candle burns, or heavy staining will be charged at full replacement cost.
Charges and Damages
When your order is placed with Tea & Lace you will be asked to secure it with a 50% payment of the value of your total order. The balance will then be payable 30 days prior to your delivery date. In addition there will be damage deposit (value of which will depend on the size of the order) which is payable at the same time as the balance.
Any deposit will be returned once all items have been checked and the order is deemed to be complete and in good order. Where there is damage or breakage upon return of your order, the replacement cost of each item will be deducted from damage deposit paid. China and glassware returned with any chips will be charged as broken as they would not be fit for purpose.
Checking and Signing
It is very important that you check your items carefully upon delivery as any notification of damaged items following the use of the vintage items will be charged for and taken from the damage deposit paid.
A standard order will be on hire to you for up to 3 days. Any extra time required may incur a surcharge but this can be discussed at the time of order.
Delivery or Collection
Tea & Lace are able to deliver and collect the vintage china. At the time of the order an appropriate fee will confirmed. Tea & Lace are able to discuss collection and return delivery of the vintage china and accessories from the address stipulated at the time of your order, however, please note any damage to the vintage items will be charged for. We are very happy to deliver anywhere in mainland UK and will aim to keep delivery costs to a minimum at all times.
Cancellation with less than 180 days notice of the hire date will incur a charge of 20% of the whole order cost (this will be deducted from the 50% deposit paid to secure the order)
Cancellation of less then 120 days notice of the hire date will incur the 50% deposit paid
Cancellation of less than 30 days notice of the hire date will incur the full charge of the hire order (the damage deposit will be refunded)
